Diverse Types of Logos

A logo is the most important part of an organization. It represents your company to the clients. The main aim of a logo is to attain recognition. The logo works as a medium to correspond your desired views and to get an optimistic answer.

A well-thought and well designed logo can fabricate your brand image and corporate identity, giving you a psychological advantage over your opposition. There are numerous possibilities in logo designing projects or corporate identity design projects. There are four distinct categories of logos Text/Word mark, Iconic/Symbolic, Graphical and Illustrative. These four types are fairly fundamental but precise classifications.
The types of logos are:

• Text/Word mark/Logotype Logos: Text logos universally called as Word Mark or Logotype are the simplest of the other logo types. They are mostly preferred by the Fortune 500 corporations. Sardonically, their simplicity makes it extremely complicated to design as the logo designer has limited feasible options and the tricks of the trade.


• Iconic/Symbolic Logos: Iconic or symbolic logos normally feature much uncomplicated graphics and/or symbols that renders an aspect or image of your company or product. The key advantage here is that they can be used with graphics only or with text also.


• Graphical/Combination Logos: Graphical or combination logos as are called popularly, lie somewhere between an iconic/symbolic and illustrative logo types. The logos which fall into this grouping are visually very alluring. They are made with so much detail that they can be easily predictable, and technically easier to exercise into all media usages.



• Illustrative Logos: Illustrative logos are the ones which are more detailed and a little intricate than graphical/combination logo types. They are a pictorial or illustrative depiction of some feature of your company or product.
